Peace Garden Almanac is an independent North Dakota publication. This page explains how we handle information when you browse or contact us.

When you browse

Cloudflare hosts and delivers this website. Its infrastructure processes connection information, including IP addresses and request details, to serve pages and protect the site.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand page views, referring sites, device types, and loading performance. Cloudflare describes this service as cookie-free and says it does not track individual visitors across sites. Those aggregate measurements are separate from the email launch list.

This publication website does not currently run display advertising, advertising pixels, or Google Analytics. Shopping and checkout take place in our separate store, described below. Fonts and article images are served from this publication website; following an image’s source link takes you to that source’s website.

The Sweater Shop

We link to The Sweater Shop at shop.peacegardenalmanac.com, a separate storefront hosted by Fourthwall. When you place an order or contact shop support, Fourthwall and the relevant payment and fulfillment providers handle purchase and contact information to process your order and provide support.

The shop’s privacy policy explains how information is handled there. The Cloudflare Web Analytics description above applies to this publication website.

Email signup information

If you joined the newsletter launch list, your email address was collected to notify you when a newsletter becomes available. Newsletter delivery has not begun, and the homepage no longer displays the signup form. Existing signup records are retained as described below.

Launch-list entries are stored in Cloudflare Workers KV. New entries include the email address, signup time, the signup form’s source, and a record of the notice shown when you joined. An entry is not treated as a verified email address. Earlier entries may also contain browser information collected by the original signup form.

The signup endpoint uses your connection’s IP address to limit repeated requests. That address is not added to the new subscriber record. Launch-list entries currently have no automatic expiration. We do not sell the launch list or share it with advertisers.

Contact and removal requests

Email hello@peacegardenalmanac.com with privacy questions or to request removal from the newsletter launch list. For a removal request, include the email address you used to join.

Cloudflare forwards messages sent to this address to the publisher’s Gmail inbox so we can review and respond to your request.

Links to other websites

We link to parks, museums, event organizers, archives, and other sources. Their websites have their own privacy practices. If we add affiliate links or paid placements in the future, we will disclose them where they appear and update this page to reflect the services involved.
